While we are cooped up in our homes, a fun way to stay sane is to reevaluate your spaces and give them a refresh. Creating a space that feels fresh will help you love your surroundings and see them in a whole new light.

TIP NO. 1 - BRING THE OUTDOORS IN

Adding some greenery is a great way to brighten up your space. You don’t need to put together a complex arrangement, you can go outdoors and pick some natural greens in your neighbourhood. If outdoors is not an option for you, depending on where you live, then go to your local market and grab something that will look really pretty and make you smile. I love roses, so a dozen of pink roses in my kitchen can change my mood in an instant.

TIP NO. 2 - RESTYLE YOUR COFFEE TABLE

Reinvent your coffee table by rearranging the decor you already have and adding in a few pieces hidden away in your home. We all have trays in our pantry’s, books packed away from previous lives and baskets we use in different rooms for different purposes. Get them out and repurpose them. Pull out books from past travel and switch them out. Seeing pieces in a different place can make them feel like new!

TIP NO. 3 – REARRANGE YOUR FURNITURE

Rearranging your furniture is a great way freshen up any room. Try moving pieces around from room to room.  Experiment with different combinations to see what you can come up with. Maybe keep the same furniture in the room and rearrange it in a way that you had not thought of before. This will make you feel excited to hang out in your new space.

TIP NO. 4 – SWITCH OUT YOUR LINENS

It's amazing what switching out a throw, and a few pillows can do. Pack away your dark colored throw and get out a lighter brighter option you have stashed away. Dive into your linen closet and pull out some spring bedding and sheets. Switch out the hand towels in your kitchen to a bright spring color. Replace the hand towels in your bathroom for fresh white ones, or even roll them up and place them in a basket for a different look.

TIP NO. 5 – PAINT

Since we have a lot of spare time on our hand, paint is a great way to freshen up any space. Get out your overalls and take out your paint brush ladies! White paint is a great choice to brighten up any space in an instant. Keep in mind not all whites are created equal. There are cool and warm options. To help you figure out which direction you should go here is a quick tip: If you tend to like a more clean/modern aesthetic, start with the crisp/cool whites. If you lean a bit more traditional, try the soft/warm whites.

I hope this helped! Send me your before and after photos, I can't wait!

Love,

Jennifer
