When Fashion and Interior Design Collide

I thought it would be fun to explore the relationship between fashion and interior design. The Oscars are one of fashions biggest nights of the year and what better place to draw inspiration.Who we are is translated through what we wear and how we decorate our homes. When we see celebrities who hire interior designers and fashion stylist, we can see how they both intersect and tell a story of who that person is.Often when creating a collection, fashions designers will use works of architecture as their starting point. Architecture inspires a piece both structurally and aesthetically. Interior designers will look to fashion for color stories and patterns. Clothing is constantly changing and evolving so it is sometimes easier to see the next best look.  Inspiration for both fashion and interior designers often come from their travels taking colors and patterns from different countries.We see more and more fashion designers who have added home lines to their brand like Jean-Paul Gaultier, DVF, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Lilly Pulitzer just to name a few. Expanding their brand allows us consumers to admire their work in more ways then just wearing it.
